FIREFIGHTER/EMT

Castle Rock Fire Department

The Castle Rock Fire Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Firefighter/EMT to join our highly motivated team. We are currently establishing an eligibility pool that will last until our next planned hiring process in 2023.

Candidates must attach the following documents to the initial Town of Castle Rock application:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current EMT certification: Colorado or National Registry are accepted, and must you must remain certified throughout the entire process
  • Current CPAT as of application date

All candidates must submit a completed FireTEAM test score to the Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department through the National Testing Network no later than the position close date at: https://www.nationaltestingnetwork.com/publicsafetyjobs/

In order for a candidate to progress through the application process, they must satisfactorily complete an interview process, criminal background check, physical exam, polygraph and psychological exam prior to commencing employment. Depending on previous academy and/or career firefighter experience, a full 16-week academy may or may not be required. This will be determined prior to your conditional job offer.

Preference points will be awarded for any of the following: career paid firefighter experience, qualifying military service, and previous career paid law enforcement experience of four or more years. There will be a place to disclose this information on the Town’s job application, and you will be required to provide proof of eligibility.

When completing the Town of Castle Rock job application, please ensure that you have all of the required information and certifications available at the time you submit the application. Once submitted, applications cannot be edited and duplicate applications may not be accepted.

Working under the general direction of the shift Fire Lieutenant, the Firefighter/EMT performs emergency and non-emergency services for the Town of Castle Rock and surrounding areas in a manner consistent with the stated values of the organization. The current Firefighter/EMT pay range is $22.19 to $29.97 /hr, plus an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement, life insurance, paid leave, and a wellness program.
